The next stop in our journey took us back just north of Dingle to County Kerry. We rented a room in an old Irish farmhouse that was on Slea Head Drive, one of the best scenic drives in Kerry County.

We were right on the Wild Atlantic Way. Our room was on the top on the right and we could look out our window to view the Atlantic Ocean. It even had a window seat to curl up on! To the right was the lamb pen, where tourists could hold a lamb if they wanted. In the back you can barely see some of the beehive huts that are all along this road. The exact age of the huts is unknown, but thought to be from the 8th to 12th century AD.
That evening, we went chasing sunsets, one of our favorite things to do.

The next day took us on a drive north on Slea Head Drive. We found another old ruin, The Cashel Murphy, used for Druid rituals that was created around 3200 BC. Beautiful views off the coast!

Continued on up the road to Dunquin Pier, one of Mark’s favorite spots.

Northward up the drive we decided to stop at Kruger’s Bar for a pint. As the sign says, this is Ireland’s most westerly bar. Tried to catch one more picture of the full moon over the ocean on the way back, but couldn’t get the light right on my iPhone camera!
