Our second trip to Ireland and a day spent in Dublin. I took a few pictures out of the airplane window of my first glimpse of land and the Irish countryside. Trying to get over the jet lag by taking a walking tour of Dublin. Rick Steve’s Ireland book is a must! Saw St. Stephen’s Green (picture), walked down Grafton Street to St. Teresa’s Catholic Church. Did not take a picture as many people were saying prayers and lighting candles inside. Walked to Trinity College (picture), but did not see the Book of Kells as we did not get advanced tickets. Walked to Christ Church Cathedral and were getting hungry and tired by this time. Stopped at Cooper Alley Bistro for fish and chips and a bowl of seafood chowder. I should have taken a picture of the seafood chowder as it was amazing! Lots of mussels, cod, squid, and clams. Afterwards we walked down the Temple Bar area and along the River Liffey. Back to the hotel, a dinner at the Kingfisher Restaurant (fish and chips and seafood chowder again) and an early night. Beautiful sunny day without rain!
